Admission Requirements: To apply for the LSU Shreveport’s online MHA program, candidates must hold either a graduate degree or a bachelor’s degree from a university accredited by one of the recognized regional accrediting agencies. The program consists of 30 credits delivered entirely online through 10 core courses. Classes follow an accelerated seven-week session format, with six sessions available each year during the fall, spring, and summer terms.
Full-time students can complete the program in as little as 12 months by taking two courses per session. Part-time students typically take one course per session, finishing the program in about 1.5 years. Students without a background in business can opt to take up to four optional foundation courses in accounting, economics, finance, and statistics before taking the core MHA courses.
Curriculum: The LSU Shreveport online MHA program features a 30-credit curriculum comprising 10 graduate courses. Courses include healthcare organizational behavior; healthcare human resource management; healthcare law and ethics; healthcare marketing; healthcare informatics; healthcare finance; healthcare systems; healthcare policy; healthcare strategic management; and healthcare economics.
Up to four optional one-credit foundation courses are available for students who have an undergraduate degree in a non-business background to help them build a base in accounting, economics, finance, and statistics. These foundation courses are not required for completion of the MHA degree but are recommended.
Online Experience: The LSUS online MHA program is designed for convenience, flexibility, and digital engagement. All coursework is completed online, with no need to travel to campus, making it ideal for working professionals to balance education with other commitments.
The program’s accelerated courses are delivered through Moodle, LSUS’s dedicated learning management system, which allows students and instructors to share messages, interact, complete quizzes, submit assignments, and access learning resources at any time. Course instruction is asynchronous, so students are not required to log in at specific times. The university also provides online tutoring, advising, and mentoring to support student success throughout the program.
On-Site Requirements: The LSU Shreveport online MHA program is delivered entirely online, with no on-campus or in-person attendance required.
