A GMAT is required with a minimum score of 450, but a waiver is available for those with five years relevant work experience, a master’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution, or a GPA of 3.3 or higher.

Application materials include an application, resume, statement of purpose, two letters of recommendation, and official transcripts. International students must submit proof of English language proficiency with a score of 80 or higher on the TOEFL test.

The five non-credit professional development workshops are ethics, negotiation, leadership presence, advanced interviewing, and working your career plan. Each workshop takes one to three hours to complete and are usually completed during two-week semester breaks.

Students who do not have a business education background may need to take up to five foundation courses for the MBA program. Courses may be waived depending on academic background. The foundation courses include organizational behavior and management, applied quantitative analysis, principles of economics, financial foundations for managers, and accounting and legal environment of business.

Online Experience: The online MBA in healthcare management focuses on real-life issues in healthcare, using a variety of hands-on methods to practice and teach skills, including case studies, role playing, simulations, and group projects.

Students begin with an online New Student Orientation which prepares them to navigate the online system. The online experience includes lectures, group projects, discussion boards, video capabilities, email, chat, IM, reading assignments, individualized feedback, and professional workshop modules. Some synchronous activities are included; however, the majority of the online curriculum is asynchronous. Each student also is assigned a personal student services coordinator and a program manager. Students also have access to financial aid advisors, a career services department, and 24/7 technical support.

On-Site Requirements: There are no on-site requirements for the online MBA in healthcare management, but students are welcome to visit campus and participate in graduation on campus.
