What to Expect from the SNHU Online MBA

Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 2.75 or greater. Admission materials include an online application, fee, and official transcripts. No GMAT/GRE or work experience are required. International students must submit foreign transcripts in a sealed envelope and provide proof of English language proficiency.

Study Plan: The MBA programs are offered over five ten-week terms per year. Foundational courses may be required depending on academic background.

Curriculum: The online MBA in healthcare management consists of 36 credits. Courses include innovations and entrepreneurship, accounting and financial analysis, leading in an organization, the business environment, and marketing and strategy. MBA courses may also include the government impact on business; ethics, corporate culture, and social responsibility; finance, economics, and decision-making; operations management and technology, and a capstone course. Students then take three elective courses such as healthcare informatics, topics in health administration, or social and organizational issues in healthcare.

Foundational courses may be required depending on prior academic coursework. Students may be exempt from some or all foundation courses depending on academic background. Foundational courses include economics for business, mathematics and statistics for business, business law, financial reporting and analysis, and human behavior in organizations.

Online Experience: SNHU uses Brightspace as their online learning management system. It provides a modern, engaging online experience through multimedia tools to increase student engagement and retention of knowledge, and it runs on mobile devices as well. The online MBA in healthcare administration and healthcare informatics programs are student-focused with classes and coursework clearly outlined so that students can more easily manage work, school, and family obligations. Coursework includes group projects as well as integrative assignments and discussion questions to foster student interaction.

Online MBA students each have their own academic advisor and have access to tutoring services, the writing center, 24/7 technical support, library services, and career services. In addition, SNHU offers SNHUconnect, an online student union where professors, students, and alumni can get together virtually to seek and give encouragement and feedback, share ideas, and collaborate.

On-Site Requirements: The MBA in healthcare management is 100 percent online. Students are always welcome to visit campus and participate in campus graduation.
