King University Online MSN Programs

King University offers an online MSN with nursing leadership and administration, nurse educator, and primary care nurse practitioner (PNP) concentrations. Note that King University may not be taking applicants to the nurse educator concentration at this time. The online MSN takes five semesters to complete, taking about 16 to 20 months in total. Students should expect to spend four hours per week for each credit, plus practicum hours.

PNP students take nine credits per semester for five semesters to complete the program in 20 months, and come to campus once per semester for two-day intensives, for a total of five campus visits. Upon graduation, PNPs are eligible to sit for the Primary Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC) exam through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB), or the Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (PPCNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Nurse educators work in areas of staff development, nursing student education, health education in schools, government programs, and community health education programs. No campus visits are required, and nurse educator MSN students can complete the program in five semesters by taking six to 10 credits per semester. Clinical and classroom practicums provide students with hands-on experience as nurse educators.

As a Christian institution, King University prepares students to focus on thoughtfulness, responsibility, and resourcefulness in serving God, the church, and their communities. King University is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and is located in Bristol, Tennessee. The MSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
