Admission Requirements: Admission to Eastern Washington University’s online MBA in healthcare administration program is designed to be flexible and straightforward. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. A cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, but candidates with a lower GPA may also be considered if they demonstrate good professional experience or meet other qualifying criteria. In addition to completing the online application, candidates must submit official transcripts and a current professional resume.

GMAT scores are waived for most applicants. Those with a GPA of at least 2.5 in the last 90 quarter- or 60 semester-graded credits and at least three years of relevant work experience may also be eligible for admission on a case-by-case basis. Alternatively, applicants with a GPA of 2.5 or higher may qualify if they meet a combined GPA and GMAT index score requirement. Those with a GPA below 2.5 may still apply and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Curriculum: The Eastern Washington University online MBA in healthcare administration consists of 44 credits across 11 courses. Students complete 28 credits of core MBA courses and 16 credits of healthcare administration concentration courses.

Those without a business background may be required to complete up to 12 additional credits of foundation courses, which can be concurrently taken with the MBA courses. These courses are designed to provide students from non-business backgrounds with the foundational skills needed to succeed in the program. These include finance; quantitative analysis in business; and the essentials of accounting.

The core MBA curriculum covers essential business disciplines. Courses include essentials of operations management; data-driven decision-making; corporate finance; marketing management; leadership and ethics; advanced accounting for managers; and an MBA capstone course.

To complete the concentration in healthcare administration, students must take three from the following four courses: U.S. health systems; health law and human resources; health systems finance and governance; and business intelligence in health systems. Notably, students also choose one additional elective course from another MBA concentration.

Online Experience: EWU’s online healthcare administration MBA is built for busy working professionals who need a convenient and flexible way to earn their degree. The program is delivered entirely online with no campus visits required, so students can study from anywhere. Courses are taught in six-week terms, and students can access classes on their own schedule.
